The intelligent encyclopedia of the human body

QAVOX

The intelligent encyclopedia of the human body

A prototype and architecture-led platform at the intersection of medicine, AI and data science

🧬 “Understanding the human body: from data to knowledge, from knowledge to life”

What is QAVOX?

QAVOX is a knowledge ecosystem, rather than simply an application. Its ambition is to build a comprehensive intelligent encyclopedia of the human body, turning fragmented, static medical texts into an understandable, interactive experience. It brings together three disciplines: medicine, artificial intelligence and data science; making hidden relationships between genes, cells, tissues, diseases and treatments visible and open to reasoning. QAVOX is ultimately a scientific tool for understanding, not a replacement for a physician’s clinical judgment.

Why does medical knowledge need a digital transformation?

Medical knowledge grows faster than any individual can fully follow. Thousands of papers appear every day, yet much of this knowledge remains dispersed across individual publications, incompatible databases and disconnected archives, making hidden relationships difficult to uncover.

There is also a significant gap between theory and clinical practice : students learn from flat illustrations and static text, while the body is a dynamic, three-dimensional system. Understanding how a mutation causes disease or how a drug affects a metabolic pathway requires tools that simulate and reveal biological complexity, rather than merely describe it.

QAVOX addresses this gap by turning fragmented data into structured knowledge, then turning that knowledge into something people can see, explore and understand.

QAVOX architecture: eight pillars of a living infrastructure

QAVOX has eight interconnected architectural layers, each with a distinct and complementary role:

Architecture layerDescription
1. Knowledge GraphA medical knowledge engine for inferring relationships between genes, cells, diseases and drugs
2. Digital Human EngineA multilayer digital body, from molecules to the complete organism
3. Disease Simulation EngineModeling disease progression from cellular processes to clinical symptoms
4. AI CoreMedical language models, computer vision, reasoning engines and specialist AI agents
5. Virtual Medical LaboratoryA virtual laboratory for testing hypotheses without physical constraints
6. Media StudioAutomated bilingual articles, podcasts, documentaries and educational animation
7. Infrastructure LayerCloud and edge infrastructure designed for scalability
8. Security LayerZero Trust architecture for protecting sensitive data

The following four pillars explain what makes the QAVOX architecture distinctive:

Knowledge Graph — from archive to reasoning engine

The Knowledge Graph is the heart of QAVOX. Beyond storing information, it is designed to infer how genes relate to diseases, how diseases respond to drugs, and how these chains vary between patients. It turns fragmented knowledge into a connected network for reasoning.

Digital Human — a body to explore layer by layer

The Digital Human Engine provides a 3D, sectionable model of the body, explored layer by layer—from skin to bone, muscle to internal organs. This approach shifts anatomy learning from memorizing static images to interacting with a living system.

Disease Simulation — from a name to a living process

Diseases are often taught as names and lists of symptoms rather than dynamic processes. The Disease Simulation Engine reverses that approach by modeling progression from cellular onset through intermediate stages to clinical symptoms, making disease an understandable biological narrative.

AI Agent Network — digital specialists serving knowledge

The AI Core consists of specialist agents with clearly defined roles: Anatomy Agent for anatomical questions, Disease Agent for disease pathway analysis, Research Agent for exploring scientific literature, Imaging Agent for interpreting medical images, and Education Agent for tailoring learning to the user’s level. Together, these agents form an accessible layer of distributed expertise.

QAVOX’s strategic value in medicine

1. Connecting fragmented knowledge

QAVOX connects scattered scientific archives into a reasoning engine. Instead of manually searching thousands of sources, users can query a connected knowledge network.

2. Transforming medical education

Learning moves from memorization to discovery. Students explore the body, simulate disease and see relationships rather than simply reading about them.

3. Prevention and personalized medicine

Through the Digital Twin concept, QAVOX lays the groundwork for individual modeling—a step toward future preventive and personalized medicine.

4. Accelerating research

Analyzing large collections of scientific papers can reveal relationships that manual reviews may miss, helping researchers develop hypotheses more efficiently.

5. A virtual laboratory beyond physical limits

The Virtual Medical Laboratory enables scientific scenarios without costly or time-consuming physical resources, providing a safe setting for exploration and hypothesis testing.

6. Data governance and trust

Zero Trust architecture, traceable data provenance and expert review underpin QAVOX’s reliability. In medicine, accuracy and traceability matter as much as the data itself.

Who is it for?

  • Physicians — quick access to connected, up-to-date knowledge relevant to everyday clinical decisions.
  • Medical students — interactive learning about anatomy and disease pathways, beyond the textbook.
  • Researchers — tools for discovering hidden connections in scientific literature and accelerating research.
  • Patients and the public — clearer, scientifically grounded understanding of the body and disease, without replacing medical advice.

The road ahead: from Heart Pilot to the whole body

QAVOX is a phased project that starts with a defined technical pilot: Heart Pilot. This reference pathway starts with the healthy heart, advances to common and rare diseases, and ultimately reaches surgical scenarios. Each architectural layer can be validated before extending it to other organs.

The project is currently in Stage 10 (Governance / Validation Pending) , with a focus on data governance, documentation and preparation for validation. Progress is controlled through defined delivery gates (G0 to G4), requiring documented, reviewable approval before each next stage. This process reflects QAVOX’s commitment to scientific rigor and accountability.

The long-term vision

QAVOX’s ambition goes beyond a single product or pilot: a global infrastructure for health knowledge that connects data, understanding and human experience. As medicine grows more complex, the goal is to make that complexity understandable without oversimplifying it, bringing people closer to knowledge of their bodies and equipping clinicians, researchers and students with tools that keep pace with science. This is the beginning of an infrastructure intended to grow for years, with each layer bringing medical knowledge closer to people.

Final note: Capabilities in this catalog are classified by the strength of their supporting evidence: architectural goal, prototype, observed evidence, or validated capability. QAVOX is currently in Stage 10 (Governance / Validation Pending) and remains on the path to scientific validation. It supports scientific understanding and does not replace a physician.
